The Lancefield Mercury Thursday August 1st 1940. MRS JANET HISCOCK Another of the old identities of the district, in the person of Mrs Janet Hiscock passed away at her residence, High Street, Lancefield, early last Friday morning, Her health had not been good for some considerable time, and she had been receiving the constant attention of her daughters Mrs S. T. Derrick and Miss B. Hiscock, She first came to Lancefield over 30 years ago with some of the youngest members of her family, and had resided here continuously. She was of a most kindly nature, and was a patient sufferer. She had reared a large family, most of whom are living. Of the members of her family only two are residing in Lancefield - Mrs. S. T. Derrick and Miss. B. Hiscock. She was aged 87 years. There was a large attendance at the funeral which took place at the Lancefield cemetery on Saturday last. The Rev. Mr. Martin of Coburg, conducted the burial service, and Mr. W. A. Gallpen had charge of the funeral arrangements.
