Fagg
English (Kent): of uncertain origin. Reaney suggests that itmay be a metonymic occupational name for a fish seller or abaker, from Middle English fagge, Old English facg, which denoteda kind of flatfish, and perhaps also a flat loaf. Another MiddleEnglish word fagge apparently denoted a fault in the weave ofa piece of cloth.

In 1851 census, he is living at Woodnesborough Road, Eastry,kent and his son Thomas. He is a Taylor (Tailor)

In 1861 census he is in Brock Lane Eastry. He is a tailor andjourney man - his mother in law is living with him.

In 1871 he is in no 4, Exchange Street, Deal, He is a tailor,he is described as 40

John married Emma Taylor Thompson, daughter of Thomas Thompson and Elizabeth Larkins. (Emma Taylor Thompson was born in 1829 in Deal, Kent England, christened on 8 May 1829 in Deal, Kent England and died in 1918 in Fulham, London (E) England.)
