  General Notes:

Robert Aldous received such an education as the common schools of his vicinity could afford, and at the age of seventeen made Fen Stanton, Huntingdon, his place of residence. There he learned carpentering. He was baptized a Mormon on 23 December 1849. Six months later he was ordained an Elder, and soon after was appointed president of the Fen Stanton Branch.
Robert Aldous came to America about 1851, in company with his wife and daughter; took up a temporary residence in Saint Louis, Missouri; then continued his journey to Salt Lake, arriving on 14 September 1853 in the Claudius V. Spencer company. He stayed in Salt Lake about a month, then moved with his family first to Ogden, then to Bingham's Fort. In early spring 1861, he relocated to Huntsville. He supervised the building of three bridges in Ogden Canyon, helped build the first log school house in Huntsville, and supervised the construction of a stone school house at the same place. He was one of the first school teachers in the town, and for five years was water master, serving in both positions without compensation. In the Church he has held successively the offices of Elder, Seventy and High Priest.

Robert married Mary Ann Parkin, daughter of Luke Parkin and Ann Hancock, on 24 Dec 1835 in Boston, Lincolnshire England. (Mary Ann Parkin was born on 8 Nov 1814 in Boston, Lincolnshire England, christened on 17 Nov 1814, died on 21 Apr 1892 in Huntsville, Weber, Utah USA and was buried on 24 Apr 1892 in Huntsville, Weber, Utah USA.)
