Roland married Dulcie Agnes Whackett, daughter of Thomas Whackett Jnr and Ada Agnes Adams, in 1927. (Dulcie Agnes Whackett was born in 1907 in Tingha, NSW Australia and died on 4 Jun 1936.). The cause of her death was result of stabbing herself in the stomach while cutting pumpkin; she died on the way to hospital.
