Research Notes:
source: & Norman V. White [norman.white30@talktalk.net] who notes: I have been researching my mother's parents. Her mother was Anne Elizabeth Grimley. She was working for J. A Trengrouse as a domestic in 1891. We do not know her whereabouts in 1898 when she became pregnant with my mother. In the process of research I discovered that J.A. lost his wife Rebecca in 1892. that he remarried a lady called Edith Hardy in 1902 and died in 1904 in Birmingham. You may already know that earlier he was managing a publishing house in Birmingham, which published among other things a railway guide. By 1901 Howard and Edith had moved away to Leyton in Essex, UK. This information was incidental to my search for clues to my mother's father who may always be unknown. I don't know if this is useful to you but the name Trengrouse is Cornish in origin and the family seem to have come from Helston. I stumbled across a web site and found that an ancestor was highly regarded for inventing a rocket propelled system for getting lines aboard shipwrecks. This saved many lives apparently. Yours Sincerely Norman V. White
