General Notes: Records show John Robert was an orchardist in the Rouse Hill area. Harriet, his daughter married Robert James Meurant, a grandson of Ferdinand Meurant, a French jeweller, who was charged and found guilty of defrauded the Irish Bank. Ferdinand was transported to NSW for his crime and became a neighbour of Daniel. He received an early pardon for making jewellery for Mrs King the wife of the Governor. John next married Mary Elizabeth Johnson in 1882. (Mary Elizabeth Johnson was born circa 1830, died on 2 May 1917 in Kellyville, Sydney, NSW Australia and was buried in May 1917 in St Bartholomews C of E, Prospect, NSW Australia.) |
