Records show John Robert was an orchardist in the Rouse Hill area. Harriet, his daughter married Robert James Meurant, a grandson of Ferdinand Meurant, a French jeweller, who was charged and found guilty of defrauded the Irish Bank. Ferdinand was transported to NSW for his crime and became a neighbour of Daniel. He received an early pardon for making jewellery for Mrs King the wife of the Governor.
