  Research Notes:

Jan Jozsa notes:
Francis, who was known as Frank, came with his parents to Australia and like his father, Francis Henry was also a miller.

John Melbourne Oliver and Francis Henry (my 2 times great grandfather) were the co-founders of the township of Nhill in the Victorian Wimmera and I have a great deal of information about them.

Francis also moved around and worked for a time at Ararat and then the Goroke Mill near Stawell. They left there and moved to what is now the township of Nhill with brother John Melbourne Oliver. The spent some years there, after starting life in a tent whilst they built a slab hut and a mill. Frank was interested in community affairs and served on the Councils at both Ararat and Nhill. He too became insolvent in Nhill and moved to Western Australia to set up mills at Narrogin where he died. Emma lived on for a while and died at Geraldton. They had eventful if difficult lives and enjoyed music and involvements with the Methodist Church. Frank Oliver was also a Freemason.

Noted events in his life were:

• connection. 302

Francis married Emmaline Geraldine Carne, daughter of William Carne and Mary Vercoe. (Emmaline Geraldine Carne was born on 12 Oct 1841 in Falmouth, Cornwall England 302.)
