Harry was busy chopping wood at his home. He stuck an extra tough piece and was chopping really hard, when he suddenly went blind. Once a year he would visit his sister Elizabeth at Ruby and someone would meet him at the station. He went around Leongatha and Korumburra selling tickets for an annual concert put on by the blind people. They had pianists and singers performing.

Henry married Florence Isabella Bentley, daughter of Arthur Richardson Bentley and Cecelia Alexandra McDonald, in 1909 in Victoria Australia. (Florence Isabella Bentley was born in 1889 in Richmond, Victoria Australia and died in 1997 in Gisborne, Victoria Australia.)
