John and Mary Wallis of Cornwall England, with their son William came to Australia aboard the Ship AMAZON. Amazon sailed from Plymouth on the 7th November 1854 and arrived in Melbourne, Victoria on the 1st February 1855. John is listed as a carpenter and his age was 36. Mary was 37 and William 6 years old. They settled in Brunswick.

John married Mary Nicholas, daughter of William Nicholas and Mary. (Mary Nicholas was born about 1815 and died on 12 Jan 1886 in Brunswick, Melbourne, Victoria Australia.)
