Matthew married Ann Chaseling, daughter of Thomas Chaseling and Margaret McMahon, on 17 Feb 1817 in St Matthews R C, Windsor, NSW Australia. (Ann Chaseling was born on 21 Dec 1802 in Hawkesbury, NSW Australia, died on 27 May 1863 in Windsor, NSW Australia and was buried in Sackville, NSW Australia.)
