I am the grand daughter of Lavinia Griffiths b 1870 & the daughter of John Alexander Hulcombe b 1898.
In 1936 John Hulcombe using the alias of Pellew he married my mother in Brisbane. At the time his wife Violet was in care after a mental breakdown & I was told by her son John (who I met in 2006) that she stayed in care for the rest of her life.
So, although I was born a Pellew I am a Hulcombe.
