Born in DRUMCLIFFE, CO. SLIGO in 1857. At the age of 19 she came to NZon the
SS "RAKAIA", which left "THE CLYDE" on the 7th SEPTEMBER 1877,
arriving at LYTTELTON 10 DECEMBER 1877. Mary Jane's occupation waslisted as a
domestic servant, she married HENRY THOMPSON(JOHANNES JONSSON)fromSWEDEN and had 8 children.

Mary married Johannes Henry (Frank) Thompson on 9 Mar 1886 in St Josephs, Lyttelton New Zealand. (Johannes Henry (Frank) Thompson was born on 20 Jun 1859 in Sweden and died on 13 Apr 1941 in Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand.)
