Mary was the daughter of Nicholas and Sophie. In 1830 she married William Winton from Ringmer they had 4 children in England before they migrated to Australia in 1838 on the boat 'Union'. They were accompanied by Nicholas and Sophie Larkin.
After William and Mary's arrival in Australia they had 3 more children.
After Williams death Mary carried on at Upchurch farm. It is believed thatshe recieved help from her brother, Edward. She died and the age of 97 1/2, and was alert and active, but apparently suffered a fall from her bed.
