My parents married after my birth, I have my mothers maiden name.
My father had his fathers surname of Hopkinson, though he uses a different name now.
My grandfather was given his mothers married name of Hopkinson, [alas Mr Hopkinson died long before he was conceived], but my grandfathers father was Thomas Blood [who by virtue of still be married to another could not wed my great-grandmother]. Thus was my grandfather registered as Aubrey Blood Hopkinson.
